Russia’s freight rail company OJSC Russian Railways has issued an open tender to undertake projects related to the construction of a section of the Moscow-Kazan-Yekaterinburg high-speed railway line.
Works come under this tender include engineering surveys, project development, route demarcation planning and project documentation for the Moscow-Kazan section.

The maximum contract price for the execution of the work is RUR20.79bn ($336.71m).
Russian Railways president Vladimir Yakunin said: "The development of high-speed rail is a fundamentally new step in the modernisation of the Russian transport system, one which countries such as Japan, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, China and many others have already taken.
"International experience confirms that infrastructure development projects greatly stimulate the real economy and the development of small and medium-sized businesses."
The 770km-long Moscow-Kazan high-speed line will pass through seven subjects of Russia with a total population of more than 25 million people.

By GlobalDataThe new line will serve 15 stations along the route and the travel time from Moscow to Kazan is expected to be three and half hours, while duration from Nizhny Novgorod to Cheboksary would be one hour, and to Kazan one and hours.
It is estimated that the new high-speed line will serve around 10.5 million passengers during the first year of service.
The project will involve localisation amounting to at least 80% of advanced production and also expected to create more than 370,000 jobs.
In October 2014, Russia signed an agreement with Chinese railway companies to build a 770km high-speed line between Moscow and Kazan.
