The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has contracted CH2M for improvement work on timber pile trestle Trinity Railway Express (TRE) bridge over Inwood Road.
The engineering services contract forms part of the plans to upgrade the TRE corridor, improving freight capacity in the region and paving the way for more frequent and reliable services, increased ridership, and reduced congestion.

Work will include structural design, geotechnical services, field and design survey, drainage, and services during construction.
CH2M will repair the bridge structure, as well as preparing plans, specifications, and developing cost estimates.
The bridge rehabilitation project aims to maintain access to Inwood Road, which serves as a primary gateway into the Southwestern Medical District.
CH2M’s Texas transportation director Phil Yerby said: "Our extensive experience with commuter rail operations, bridge design, vehicular traffic maintenance, construction techniques, and federal requirements will be invaluable to not only the design and construction of a successful project, but carefully maintaining operations while the bridge improvements are constructed."
