Powerlines Group's subsidiary SPL Powerlines Austria has secured a contract from ÖBB-Infrastruktur to modernise the Ossiach line in Carinthia, Austria.
The deal will see the company’s Austrian subsidiary dismantle the overhead catenary system at the stations in Liebenfels and Glanegg, as well as on the line between the two stations.

The single-track line will also be fitted with ÖBB 1.1 and ÖBB 1.2 type overhead lines.
Powerlines engineers will install a total of 224 cantilevers, 10.8km of catenary, 16.5km of traction power lines and two switch stations.
The company noted in a statement that "the greatest challenge posed by the project is the limited construction window of just two months, and the fact that work can only be scheduled in daytime shifts."
All rail services are to be cancelled on the line during the construction perio in order to carry out the scheduled works, which are expected to be completed 8 September.
