Last year, the company had opened a dedicated RCS rail control project delivery centre in Gurgaon.

The company is also providing its Cityflo 650 communications-based train control (CBTC) system for Line 7 of Delhi Metro, which is the first driverless unattended mass transit system in India.

Recently, a new contract for the Bombardier Cityflo 650 CBTC system was awarded for a 5km extension of Delhi Metro’s Line 3.

Cityflo 350 train control and signalling system is operating on two lines of the Delhi Metro, covering 39km with further extensions in delivery covering 35km.

The company has also offered traffic management systems for Mumbai’s Western and Central Railways, where the train service covers almost 800km of track across both networks.

In June, Bombardier secured a Rs15bn ($228m) order from Delhi Metro Rail to deliver 162 Movia metro cars.

The new trains will increase the number of DMRC’s existing fleet of Movia metros from 614 to 776 vehicles.

Delivery of the new vehicles is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2016 and is expected to end in early 2018.
