Grooved contact wires

Isodraht supplies grooved contact wires made from copper (Cu-ETP), copper-silver alloy (Cu-Ag), copper-magnesium alloy (Cu-Mg) or copper-tin alloy (Cu-Sn). Drums and lengths can be customised to the customer's requirements. Shapes are available according to international standards on request.

Isodraht's range of contact wires includes:

• Cu-ETP copper contact wire of 80mm²-150mm², for railway applications up to a speed of 160km/h (e.g. tram and trolley lines)
• Cu-Ag 0.1% contact wire of 80mm²-150mm², for advanced railway lines with a speed up to 250km/h
• Cu-Mg 0.2%-0.5% contact wire of 100mm²-150mm², for high-speed applications up to 400km/h
• Cu-Sn 0.4% contact wire of 100mm²-150mm², for high-speed applications
• Specialty contact wire in straight lengths up to 6m for armatures is available in all DIN EN 50149 standard shapes

Contact wires and stranded cable conductors

Isodraht is always the first choice when contact wire and stranded conductors are needed. It supplies local transportation systems for trams and trolleybuses, as well as systems for high-speed, long-distance trains.

The company produces contact wire made from ETP-copper, silver, tin or magnesium alloy, and cable conductors made from ETP-copper or magnesium alloy (BzII according to DIN 48200 ff standards).

Contact wire for high-speed trains

Often, very specific solutions are required from Isodraht. High-speed trains such as the ICE make particularly high demands on the railway's control system. For this application Isodraht offers special copper wire with not only high tensile strength but also the highest conductivity.

Copper / bronze stranded conductors

Isodraht provides copper and copper magnesium alloyed stranded conductors on drums and in fixed lengths according to customers' requests. Other constructions and isolated stranded conductors are available on request.
