Eland Cables, a leading international cable supplier, is celebrating the success of being crowned the 13th best company to work for in the Sunday Times Top 100 List 2011.

The Best Company to Work for Awards 2011 is based on the accreditation scheme run by Best Companies and serves as the biggest benchmark of workplace engagement in the UK. There was a record amount of entries received this year with over 291,000 employees surveyed from more than 1,100 organisations. Competition was tough, but Eland managed to rank 13 out of 100 on the overall list and also received the ‘most improved’ special award. This award recognises the company that has improved their results the most over the past year.

Eland achieved some brilliant results this year with managing director Philip Brown described as a ‘positive force’ at Eland. One employee said: “Our workplace would be grey without his forward-thinking approach to business.” The rest are clearly in agreement with 92% having faith in him and 87% finding him inspiring.

Eland’s most impressive score is also undoubtedly their proudest, with a huge 96% (6th place) for ‘people going out of their way to provide a great service for clients,’ confirming Eland is not only a great company to work for, but to work with. Eland also scored highly for their green credentials with 86.3% (9th place) for being one of the greenest companies and 86% of staff agrees ‘the firm does a lot to protect the environment’. Another top mark included fifth place (89.7%) for staff believing ‘they can make a difference’.
