Maquivías has specialised in track laying and track maintenance machinery since its establishment in 1970. Maquivías delivers efficient services to the major Spanish railway companies, making it the Spanish leader in the field, as well as a success in the international market. Maquivías is active in Cuba, Chile, Columbia and Greece.

RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY AND TRACK CARS

We supply a broad range of machinery for railway construction, as well as track cars, for surveying and inspection of the catinery, railway conditions and any tool equipment necessary at the work site. We ensure that our completed works are always in strict accordance with both the specific customer requirements and all European standards. We manufacture the following tools:

  • Mechanical or hydraulic coach screwing
  • Sleeper drilling machines
  • Ballast tamping sets
  • Gantry cranes
  • Threader rail machines
  • Grinding rail machines
  • Maintenance track operation vehicles (on request)
  • Tool equipment (lifting rack jacks, hydraulic lifting jacks; socket wrenches; fishbolt spanners; concrete sleeper tongs; wooden sleeper tongs, etc.)

Maquivías owns an important pool of modern plant and equipment and is staffed by highly qualified personnel. Our products are produced using state-of-the-art technology, and when manufacturing, we regard safety and efficiency as the highest priority.

MAQUIVÍAS HYDRAULIC GANTRY CRANES

The ‘MQ-PH-30’ hydraulic gantry has been designed and developed to lift and position reinforced track sections and to distribute sleepers the right distance apart along the track bed when the sleeper distributing beam is attached. Working in tandem, pairs of gantries are able to lift track that is buried in ballast and to transport a weight of up to 30t. The gantry is entirely hydraulic, and its movements are driven by hydraulic motors and cylinders.

Maquivías has specialised in track laying and track maintenance machinery since its establishment in 1970.
The 'MQ-PH-30' hydraulic gantry has been designed to lift and position reinforced track sections and to distribute sleepers the right distance apart.
The Maquivías 'MQ-PN-4000' levelling gantry moves hydraulically and is controlled by a series of solenoid valves operated by remote control.
The gantry has two operating speeds, and hoisting capabilities, and can be supplied with a generating set and a transport trolley onto which the gantry is bolted.
Maquivías has supplied 35 years of experience to the Spanish railway network, which is reflected in our tools and special applications.

Movements are governed by a radio control unit, which is backed up by manual controls if the remote controller is lost or broken. There is also a cable connection to which the remote controller can be attached if the batteries have run down. In addition to the main motor-pump unit, there is an auxiliary motor-pump for emergency use (breakdown or fault on the main motor-pump). This allows the gantry to be operated at lower speed than the main pump. Each gantry is driven by all four wheels and has hydraulic braking on two wheels.

The gantry runs on an external auxiliary rail, laid parallel to the rail to be lifted or laid. The distance between rails is 3,500mm (this distance may be changed at the customer’s request). The gantries are transported on an open sided truck, loaded in such a way as to ensure maximum clearances are not exceeded.

MAQUIVÍAS LEVELLING GANTRY

The Maquivías ‘MQ-PN-4000’ levelling gantry was developed to meet the needs of the new Spanish high-speed rail lines (AVEs), particularly in tunnel sections using the new Rheda 2000 series sleepers for slab track. These sleepers, and their rails, must be perfectly leveled and aligned before concreting them down to the track bed.

The unit moves hydraulically and is controlled by a series of solenoid valves operated by remote control. The movements it is able to make are, general track lifting, canting, super elevation, gripping and releasing track and moving the machine backwards and forwards.

It also has manual brake spindles on the wheels, illuminated zero position signalling and audible signalling while maneuvering. The gantry has two operating speeds: fast and slow. It also has hoisting capabilities, and can be supplied with a generating set and a transport trolley onto which the gantry is bolted.

Maquivías has 35 years of technical and practical experience, which is reflected in our tools and special applications, as we continue to meet the constructor’s requirements. These special applications have been used on the Spanish railway network proving themselves to be the most efficient available on the market.
