The RWR 252 series of fully encapsulated, dual output, railway quality dc-dc converters deliver up to 250W. The units meet the requirements of EN 50155 for electronic equipment used on rolling stock.

With an input surge withstand capability of 3.5Vn for 20 msec., the converters meet RIA12, the general specification for the protection of traction and rolling stock equipment from transients and surges in DC control systems. Wide EN 50155 input ranges include 24Vdc (14.4V-34V), 36Vdc (22V-51V), 48Vdc (29V-67V), 72Vdc (43V-101V), 96Vdc (58V-135V) or 110Vdc (66V-154V). Outputs V1 and V2 each provide 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V or 125Vdc. Custom input and output voltages are available on request.

The RWR 252 converters are equipped with heavy filtering on the input and output and comply with EN 50121-3-2. They also meet EN 61000-4-2 (ESD), EN 61000-4-3 (RF immunity), EN 61000-4-4 (fast transients), EN 61000-4-6 (conducted immunity) and EN 45545.

The units are fully encapsulated with a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound with a UL94V-0 flammability rating. They also meet environmental criteria as specified in MIL-810C, D. This ensures immunity to high levels of shock and vibration, moisture, and other contaminants. Conduction cooling via base plate to customer heat-sink or chassis enables operation over a -40°C to 70°C temperature range for full specification, with no derating required.
