Frenoplast has 25 years’ experience in frictional materials production for railways and industry. We deal with specialised production of asbestos-free fractional materials. Our company is well known in the Polish, European and many other countries’ markets.

Frenoplast was established in 1985. At the beginning the company was in Wolomin, but market requirements, fast-growing competition as well as research and development needs made the owners decide to build a new factory in the area of the Warmia and Mazury Special Economic Zone in Szczytno. A modern plant with increased production potential was launched in 2000, and it produces modern and high-quality goods. The production process is conducted in safe and environment-friendly conditions.

IRIS certification

Frenoplast meets the requirements specified in DIN ISO 9001:2001, ISO 14001:2005, ISO 18001:2005 and was also awarded the IRIS certificate relating to the new international railway standard. The successful award of IRIS certification is an important part of Frenoplast’s quality strategy, whereby Frenoplast supplies high-quality, certified products for the railway industry.

Frenoplast manufactures friction materials for railways braking systems.
We offer disc brake pads that are asbestos-free, made from moulded friction materials.
The brake block and centre pivot liner are made of asbestos-free materials.

Composite frictional linings for rail vehicles

Frenoplast is the only manufacturer of composite frictional linings for rail vehicles in Poland.

Disc brake pads

We offer disc brake pads that are asbestos-free and made from moulded friction materials, including products that have UIC 541-3 approval (for use in rail vehicles travelling at speeds up to 200km/hr).

All our products are non-aggressive and co-operate well with contacting friction material, assuring noise-free and spark-free braking. They offer good frictional stability in various weather conditions, including winter conditions. They are suitable for use in a wide range of speeds, contact pressures and temperatures.

Type ‘K’ brake blocks for passenger and good wagons

Frenoplast’s research and development centre is continuously working on new products, including brake blocks (using high and low-friction coefficient materials) for passenger and goods wagons. In October 2009 Frenoplast received the initial acceptance of the UIC for innovative brake block type ‘K’ for goods wagons.

Brake blocks type ‘LL’

After successful tests Frenoplast has developed a material intended as a direct replacement of the cast-iron blocks without modifications of the brake systems: brake blocks type LL. The wear of the product is several times lower than the wear of cast iron blocks. It offers good frictional stability in various weather conditions over a wide range of speeds, contact pressures and temperatures.

Centre-pivot and side-bearer liners

Made of asbestos-free materials to be used in two-axle bogies of freight wagons, the centre-pivot and side-bearer liners offer low and stable coefficient of friction as well as providing excellent wear resistance.
