Harsco has won a second major railway track and infrastructure maintenance equipment contract from Swiss federal rail system SBB.
Worth $100m, the follow-on option contract involves supply of 59 high-speed vehicles that will be used for the construction, maintenance and repair of overhead catenary systems across Switzerland.

Harsco interim CEO David Everitt said: "These two contracts establish a solid foundation to a growing Harsco Rail presence in Europe."
The latest award will enable SBB to actualise several synergies in technology, project management, training, spare parts stocks and maintenance.
The company will begin deliveries in 2016 and continue through 2017.
The contract follows a more than $100m contract awarded to Harsco in October 2013 to deliver specialty utility vehicles.

By GlobalDataThe first contract was awarded as part of the Swiss AlpTransit project to increase rail capacity across the region. The specialty vehicles will be used to support operations in the new Gotthard and Ceneri base tunnels.
Harsco rail president Scott Jacoby said: "This second order underpins our division’s large project pipeline and strengthens the partnerships that we are developing as a local European railway supplier."
