Global Display Solutions (GDS) is proud to announce the installation of its innovative floor displays in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.

As part of the largest project of its kind in the world, GDS has provided more than 900 units of its newest display product. These are specifically designed to create large digital video-floors giving users a unique experience.

GDS business division manager Ivano Pozza commented: "As with the whole GDS display family, floor displays are designed to provide an exceptionally appealing digital image while operating efficiently under all ambient lighting conditions, thanks to its high brightness and high contrast characteristics.

"Moreover, this product is also easy to install and to service. By installing in the ground, floor displays provide a very unusual experience that encourages the viewer to look down as well around them. The displays are completely safe to walk on having both anti-slip and anti-scratch coatings."

Mechanical strength is guaranteed by the use of constructor-grade glass. GDS’s ‘G-Bond’ bonding treatment provides efficient thermal management with no possibility of dust or condensation entering between the front glass and the LCD. Floor displays are designed to operate 24/7 and include both a built-in diagnostic system, to monitor the operational performance of the display and a split-image system to create continuity between the pictures when installed next to each other.

Pozza added: "Of course, the Astana project will be a flagship in this area of installation, but we consider it also a starting point, since we are already working to provide the system in other public contexts, such as museums, exhibition areas, banks and conference rooms, for instance."

The floor displays will be shown on GDS’ stand during the upcoming Innotrans fair in Berlin, Germany, alongside other turnkey solutions provided by the company for the railway and transportation sectors, as well as for the digital signage industry as a whole.
