The $898m Metro Gold Line Eastside in the US city of Los Angeles will open in mid-November, after its extension from Union Station downtown to East Los Angeles.
The six-mile extension, carried out by Eastside LRT Constructors over five years, will link the existing Metro Gold Line to Pasadena with Little Tokyo and the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles.
The line will also run east along 1st Street through Boyle Heights to East Los Angeles.
The section will cover eight new stations including two underground and 1.7 miles of underground track and is expected to carry nearly 13,000 passengers daily by the end of the first year of operation.
The opening of the line will increase the city Metro rail system to a total of 79 miles.
