Saudi Arabian investment firm Central Mining Company Investment (CMCI) and South Africa’s track manufacturers Tubular Track have launched a joint venture called T-Track Saudi, to build tracks suiting desert conditions.
The tracks will be made for countries in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world where extreme temperatures and loose sand are a problem.
Saudi Arabia will serve as the centre for the new company’s Middle East operations.
The T-track technology has already been tested on a 1km track in the Saudi Arabian province of Harad.
