A 30-year concession agreement covering The Royal Cambodian Railways was signed between the Cambodian government and a joint venture led by the Australian Toll Group to increase rail freight in the nation.
The Royal Cambodian Railways network will be operated by the Toll Group and a Cambodian conglomerate Royal Group with stake of 55% and 45% respectively.
The Royal Cambodian Railways will eventually be a part of a planned Asean rail network connecting Singapore with China via Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
