Polish company PESA Bydgoszcz has signed a contract worth about $464m with Warsaw Tramways to supply 186 five-car trams for the Warsaw rail network.
The air-conditioned trams will feature a 100% low-floor, open-space interior, better security and monitoring system and an additional entrance that is possible with use of an automatic ramp.
The tram can accommodate 201 passengers.
The initial delivery of 301,20mm-long trams will begin in September 2010 and the contract will be completed by the end of 2013.
