Trapeze has acquired Funkwerk Information Technologies York, a subsidiary of Funkwerk Technologies, to expand its offering in advanced planning, operational management and simulation software tools for the rail industry.
With over 20 years of experience and a technological background in the rail IT sector, Funkwerk York offers software for the planning, simulation and management of railway operations and infrastructure.
The company provides services to customers including regional and long-distance railway operators, tram, metro and freight operators and infrastructure providers across the world.
With the transaction, Trapeze will have new products in its portfolio for the rail industry, which include Funkwerk York’s RailPlan, PowerPlan, TrainPlan, TTRA, ResourcePlan, Crew Optimiser and ResourceManager.
Trapeze’s new product portfolio will help rail customers to build timetables and simulate railway operations, as well as fleet planning and resource management.
Trapeze global CEO Mark Miller said that the company has been seeking to grow in the rail market as part of its overall passenger transport offering.
