Alstom has selected Nomad Digital to provide passenger Wi-Fi services on 20 new Coradia Continental regional trains in Germany.

In December 2012, Zweckverband Großraum Braunschweig (ZGB) awarded a €100m contract to Alstom for the trains.

The trains will be operated by ZGB in the Elektronetz Niedersachsen Ost network (ENNO), from Hannover to Wolfsburg and Wolfsburg to Hildesheim through Braunschweig.

Nomad EMEAI general manager Jean-Philippe Tissot said: "As a modern and contemporary train that is now offering more comfort and luxury for passengers travelling on these routes, a best-in-class passenger Wi-Fi service complements the customer experience perfectly.

Nomad’s PEP Charger solution meets a consistently high level of connection quality by using all available bandwidth on-board, which improves the flow of information, maximises performance and minimises disruptions.

The project is expected to be completed before Alstom delivers the new trains to ZBG in December 2015.
