The Royal Albert bridge, which connects Devon and Cornwall in the UK, will be renovated after plans for Network Rail to carry out the work were approved.
The 151-year-old bridge will be strengthened and refurbished over three years.
The structure is expected to undergo repair work to its corroded parts and will also be re-painted.
The total cost of the project is estimated at £10m ($14.5m), according to news.bbc.co.uk.
