Moroccon national railway Office National des Chemins de fer (ONCF) has selected a consortium led by French consultancy Systra to construct the southern section of the Tanger–Kénitra line.

The 200km line contract will be part of the MAD20bn ($2.2bn) Tanger–Casablanca high-speed rail project.

The 49-month contract includes assisting with the awarding of contracts for the 110km of line to Kénitra, where the tracks will connect with an upgraded existing route.

The Tanger–Casablanca rail line is scheduled to begin operations in December 2015, according to railwaysafrica.com.
