Pearl consortium has won a contract to roll out a $1.2bn smart card ticketing system in Sydney, Australia.
The consortium is expected to deliver a system based on the Cubic-developed London Oyster Card system.
The company said commuters can top-up their ticketing accounts online, at shops or link the cards to bank accounts or credit cards.
The system will cover trains across Greater Sydney.
The Pearl consortium includes Cubic Transportation Systems, Downer EDI and Commonwealth Bank.
