India’s Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has partnered with Google to provide information on the metro system’s schedules and routes on Google Transit, a navigation tool on Google Maps.
This free service, including information provision on station locations and train frequencies, will be available to commuters on their computers and mobiles.
Google India’s product manager Manik Gupta said this new system will benefit all commuters in the area as the Delhi Metro becomes more popular.
The city is gearing up for the Commonwealth Games in October and this new service is expected to benefit thousands of visitors.
The 96km metro system carries nearly 950,000 commuters daily and by October its network is expected to increase to 190km.
