Union Pacific Railroad has revealed plans to improve a 75ml stretch of the Central Oregon track, stretching from Oakridge to Harrisburg, US.
The $33.5m project includes the installment of 26ml of new rail at several points and more than 81,000 railroad ties along the central Oregon railroad.
The venture will also improve the rail yard in Eugene by replacing 15,400 ties and over 5,000t of ballast.
The project is part of a $3.2bn funding, which Union Pacific plans to spend in 2011 for the improvement of the Oregon’s 32,000ml rail network.
