The uST transport and infrastructure complex (uST is the name of the technology) consists of a string-rail overpass, rolling stock, an automated control system, and ‘second-level’ infrastructure.
uST transport and infrastructure complexes are able to provide efficient passenger service in cities, as well as between settlements. Uncrewed electric vehicles on steel wheels (uPods) travel above the ground on a string-rail overpass. Due to this, there is no risk of traffic jams, accidents, or collisions with pedestrians or animals. The automated control system monitors the speed of traffic and ensures uninterrupted, round-the-clock operation of the uST complex.
Electric rail cars can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h and service up to 50,000 passengers per hour. The design of uPods allows individual modules to be combined into a single train, with the help of electronic coupling. The number of vehicles in the train and their capacity depends on the expected passenger flow. A string-rail overpass can be laid over existing roads and railways, power lines, residential and industrial areas, and above various obstacles.

uST transport and infrastructure solutions are based on the technology of creating pre-stressed transport overpasses. Their key element is the string rail. It is a continuous-in-length steel, reinforced concrete, or steel-reinforced concrete beam. Stretched strings are located in its core, made from a bundle of steel wires pre-stressed with tension, reinforcing ropes, or rods made of high-strength composite material. The surface of the rail is equipped with a special steel head, along which the steel wheel of the rolling stock moves. This design ensures high evenness and durability of the track. The main horizontal load from stretching falls on the anchor supports. The vertical load is carried by intermediate supports.
