Qatar Rail has opened the preview service for the Doha Metro’s Gold Line that runs from Ras Bu Abboud in the east to Al Aziziyah in the west.

The preview service includes 11 stations and trains operating every five minutes with the same operating hours as the Doha Metro’s Red Line.

Qatar Rail service delivery chief Abdulla Saif Al Sulaiti said: “The launch of the metro preview services has been well received and we’ve had an extremely positive response from our customers.

“The launch of the Gold Line service is another key milestone for Qatar Rail leading up to the delivery of our fully-fledged integrated network by 2020. In the past few months, we have dedicated our efforts to deliver the expansion of Doha Metro services, and we are ahead of schedule.”

All of the Doha Metro Gold Line stations are air-conditioned and feature a customer service centre and goldclub centre, as well as separate prayer areas and restrooms for both men and women.

The stations are also equipped with monitors to provide train service details, security cameras and a first aid room.
