Following MFL’s successful introduction to the large Russian rail milling market, it has decided to enter the Chinese rail milling market as well. The tender of the Chinese Ministry of Railway (MoR) concerning the fifth rail milling machine was finally awarded to the joint project of Maschinenfabrik Liezen (MFL) in Austria and China Railway Large Maintenance Machinery, Kunming (KCRC) in China.

The award was confirmed on 26 December 2011 and was signed on 28 December 2011. The mobile rail milling train for the MoR is equipped with state-of-the-art milling technology, including a semi-automatic tool changing unit, both designed, engineered, manufactured and provided by MFL. Its high performance rail milling technology offers high removal rates, perfect reprofiling of the rail, an impressive surface quality and last but not least an outstanding lifetime performance of the carbides. The working speed amounts to up to 2,000m per hour, in respect to the removal rate. Due to these facts the productivity is immense.

MFL is one of Austria’s largest mechanical engineering companies and fully equipped with high end tools and machinery. A short delivery time of 18 months for the entire rail milling equipment can be provided. Special skilled staff with many years of experience in rail milling is available worldwide and at any time to train and support the customer’s milling train teams.

MFL’s engineering department is always one step ahead and already designing the next level of state-of-the-art milling technology. And so is the new finishing tool, which will set a new standard in surface quality and waviness.

Rail Milling by MFL offers perfection and precision in one pass. For further information please contact Maschinenfabrik Liezen und Gießerei Ges.m.b.H., Fabriksplatz 1, 4662 Steyrermühl, Austria. You can also telephone +43 3612 270 800, email saegen.fraesen@mfl.at or visit www.mfl.at.
