The Port Authority of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US, has selected Harsco Rail to provide one tamping machine.
The contract calls for the provision of a specialised Mark VI machine, with an expected delivery date by late-2019. The Allegheny County Port Authority purchased the machine to improve and maintain track structure which, in turn, improves passenger rideability.
“This order represents the expansion of our longstanding relationship with the Allegheny County Port Authority,” said Harsco Rail president Jeswant Gill. “Through that relationship, we know that they prioritise the safety and comfort of their passengers above all else. Harsco Rail is very pleased to be the authority’s partner in delivering on those promises.”
