Steven Nixon Joins ENSCO Board of Directors

ENSCO is pleased to announce the addition of Steven Nixon as a member of its board of directors.

“We are excited about the addition of Steve Nixon to our Board of Directors,” states Greg Young, chairman of the board. “Steve’s experience and entrepreneurial drive will be valuable assets to the company as the board continues to shape ENSCO’s long-term strategy.

“Steve’s background and knowledge will strengthen our position within the DOD, Intelligence and Space Communities. He previously assisted in evaluating ENSCO’s national security offerings as a ‘Thought Leader’ consultant in 2014. I look forward to working with Steve as a member of our board.”

Nixon is currently vice-president for Strategic Development at Stratolaunch Systems Corporation. In that role, he leads the company’s activities involving strategy, government affairs, business development, marketing, and communications.

Nixon is a former strategy consultant and former CTO of the US Intelligence Community, a position that helped shape the science and technology activities of 16 US intelligence agencies.

He was the founder and first acting director of IARPA, the equivalent to DARPA, in the Intelligence Community. Prior to that, Nixon was a long-time professional staff member on the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.

In 2008, Nixon was awarded the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement. In 2005, Space News recognised him in its global top ten list of people making a difference in space.

That same year, the National Journal recognised him in the ‘Hill 100’ as a top congressional staffer in the category of ‘Defense Transformation’. Before working for Congress, he was a navy analyst at the Pentagon.

Nixon participated in the Executive Leadership Training at the Kellogg School of Management and has a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown University. He has bachelor’s degrees in both mathematics and electrical engineering from the University of Kansas.
