CRITICAL Software has today announced its 2016 financial results, breaking all previous records and delivering its strongest annual performance to date.

The international systems and software company grew its annual global turnover by 18% to €30 million for the year, whilst year-on-year EBITDA grew to €4.9m. EBT rose to €2.9m, representing a profit margin of 10% compared with overall turnover.

The company has now achieved a 54% rise in turnover over the last three years, with international business significantly increasing, particularly in the UK and Germany. This growth has seen the company continue to expand, with new business sites in Porto and Munich, and the expansion of existing sites in Coimbra and Southampton.

CRITICAL Software’s new Porto office will host around 150 employees in the heart of the city, while a new German office in Munich places the company within one of Europe’s key technology hubs.

The company’s headquarters in Coimbra have also been expanded to accommodate an additional building, while a second Southampton office in the UK includes a new smart device assurance laboratory, which will allow the company to build on its success in the smart energy sector – one of the major driving forces behind the company’s recent growth.

Gonçalo Quadros, CEO of CRITICAL Software, said: "We are delighted that our financial results have once again grown significantly this year. Despite challenging conditions in our southern hemisphere markets, our impressive performance in European markets, namely Germany and the UK, have once again catapulted our results to a record high."

"We are especially pleased that our growth has come not only from our traditional aerospace, defence and transport business sectors, but also from really strong performance in the energy and finance sectors too."

As a result of its success, CRITICAL Software is looking to recruit further talent in order to meet its ambitious targets for 2017. The company prides itself on offering individuals an inspiring and rewarding culture working on some of the world’s most innovative technologies and projects.
