Dyson Airblade emits up to 83% less carbon emissions than paper towels.
Dyson manufactures hand dryers designed to improve hygiene in toilets at railway stations, as well as offering LED lighting solutions and air purifier heaters and fans.
Products are developed by our engineers with advanced technology for use at transport hubs and businesses. Products such as hand dryers, lighting solutions and air purifiers are designed to improve the visitor and working environments in railway stations.
Hand dryers for increased hygiene in railway station toilets
Dyson’s Airblade Wash+Dry hand dryer combines a tap and hand dryer into a single touch-free solution installed at sinks in railway station washrooms.
High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtered air is used to dry hands in 14 seconds without having to move to a separate area of the washroom, avoiding dripping water on the floor.
The complete Airblade Wash+Dry tap and dryer improves hygiene and ensures that space available in busy railway station facilities can be optimised.
Advanced technology hand dryers for railway station washrooms
The Airblade™ technology used in the Wash+Dry solution was developed by our engineers in 2006. This came 58 years after the first electric hand dryer was used and almost a century after paper towels were introduced for hand drying in 1907. However, both of these methods can be expensive to run, unhygienic and have a negative impact on the environment.
We have calculated that the Airblade Wash+Dry system costs up to 69% less to run and produces approximately 74% less CO₂ than other hand dryers.
The hand dryer is also 97% cheaper to operate than paper towels and generates 71% less CO₂. To find out more about our savings calculations, complete the enquiry form on this page.
LED task lighting for railway workspaces
Our CSYS task light can be positioned to enhance lighting conditions in railway working environments. It offers glare control and touch-activated dimming to ensure that each unit provides optimal lighting.
Innovative LED technology is incorporated into CSYS lighting along with a cooling system, which ensure that it remains at an effective brightness for longer. The technology provides suitable lighting for passenger and workspaces in railway stations to prevent eyestrain and headaches, which can be caused by poor lighting.
Enhanced air quality from purifier heaters
The Pure Hot + Cool is an air purifier and heater that has been designed with Dyson Air Multiplier™ technology to improve the environment within railway stations.
A study from a 2012 European Respiratory Journal found that air pollution can be five times worse indoors than it is outdoors. Our Pure Hot + Cool can be used to purify the air in railway stations and adjust the temperature, according to the seasonal weather outside.
Dyson offers a range of advanced technology for businesses in the railway sector.
Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers use advanced technology for quick and hygienic hand drying at railway station washrooms.
