Light & Lean

Bossard Group and KVT-Fastening are launching their global ‘Light & Lean’ portfolio of industrial fastening technologies and their revolutionary logistics solutions at Innotrans 2014.

The popular products from companies, such as bigHead, Huck, Nord-Lock, PEM and Southco, and the worldwide launch of a revolution in logistics systems will be the real highlights at booth 220 in hall 8.2.

A keynote on ‘Light & Lean in the transport and railway sector’, which is based on the practical experience of bigHead and Stadler Rail, will also take place during the trade show event.

Keynote with real-life experiences

The subject of Bossard Group’s keynote is ‘Light & Lean: Innovative fastening systems and logistics solutions for transport’.

Many examples from real-life experiences will be used for the demonstration. Speeches by bigHead and Stadler Rail will introduce advanced fastening solutions for lightweight building methods and services for streamlined production processes in the transport sector.

The one-hour launching ceremony will take place on 23 September from 1:30pm in the Speakers’ Corner (Hall 15.2, East Entry). It will be held in English and is open to all visitors.

Light: Optimised product solutions for lightweight building materials

Light building materials, such as carbon, aluminium and fibreglass, are the current trends in industry and are popular in fastening technology.

For the rail technologies sector, the ecosyn product line by Bossard, in addition to leading brands such as bigHead, Huck, Nord-Lock, PEM and Southco, are particularly recommended.

They will assure cost savings and increase reliability and safety on-site upon installation. bigHead solutions are particularly recommended when traditional fastening elements reach their limits or when lightweight manufacturing is important. bigHead fasteners are available from the Bossard Group in more than 400 standard varieties.

Customers in the vehicle, shipbuilding and machinery construction and furniture industries can call on a wide range of alternatives to traditional fastening technologies. The added flexibility is a product of the design of a bigHead: a number of different fixing points, such as pins, nails, nuts, threads and hooks, are attached by a welded spot on a basic plate.

In this way, the fasteners are invisibly integrated in many plastic and compound materials. In comparison with traditional fasteners, there is no need to drill any holes, which can cause a loss of strength in the component.

Lean: Automated material treatment with Bossard SmartBin

The Bossard SmartBin logistics system will be one of the trade fair highlights. It was developed for automatic supply management with C-parts in stock, in production and right at the workstation.

Stock control, re-ordering and supply are done through weighing systems. Companies will benefit from reduced supply and storage costs, reduced efforts in stock control and on a generally lower capital lockup. In Berlin, Germany, the Bossard Group will be introducing a revolution in the logistics system sector.
