ABSOPULSE Electronics has recently added the HVI 600FR-F7W to its line of high input voltage railway DC-DC converters.
The 600W unit delivers a single output of 24Vdc. It accepts 750Vdc input (525V to 975Vdc range), which is the traction voltage for mass transit vehicles such as trams, metros and light rail and mining locomotives. It is also suitable for running auxiliary equipment on trolleybuses. Custom input / output specifications are available on request.
An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for a number of units to be connected in parallel to achieve higher output power or N+1 redundancy. The output separation diode allows for battery charging applications.
HVI 600FR-F7W meets the requirements of EN50155 for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock. With heavy filtering on the input and output, the unit complies with EN50121-3-2. It meets EN61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN61000-4-4, EN61000-4-6 and other related standards. Protection features include 4300Vdc input-output isolation, reverse polarity protection, overload protection, thermal protection and current limiting.
The HVI 600FR-F7W operates over a -25°C to 70°C temperature range without derating. Cooling is provided by three high-quality built-in fans. The compact, low profile unit is ruggedly constructed and measures 280mm x 73mm x 356 mm (W x H x D).
