Schaltbau was recently audited by Bureau Veritas Certification and was found to easily comply with the requirements of the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) quality standard.
Our facilities at Velden and Aldersbach were evaluated with more than 80%. This is a very good result for a first certification. Our strategy process – which is based on many management ratios being introduced – and the resulting continuous improvement process were particularly praised.
IRIS is a globally recognized standard unique to the railway sector for the evaluation of suppliers and their management systems. IRIS is based on DIN EN ISO 9001:9002, with railway-specific requirements added.
Rail transport has been greatly liberalised in recent years. IRIS is the response to the demands of railway operators and manufacturers for systematic quality assurance and monitoring. Since 2009, manufacturers of rolling stock have therefore stipulated that their A-suppliers must be certified according to IRIS.
