The consortium lead by CAF has signed the contract for the Mexico-Toluca Intercity Railroad Project.

The consortium lead by CAF, in partnership with Isolux, Thales and Azvi, has been awarded the rolling stock and systems supply contract for the Mexico-Toluca Intercity Railroad.

CAF Signalling, as a consortium member, will supply the Automatic Train Operation (ATO) system, the control centre and the Onboard ERTMS Level 2 system. CAF is to supply the rolling stock with 30 EMUs of five cars each, and an approximate capacity for 700 passengers.

The overall project scope of supply is inclusive of rolling stock, signalling, control centre, electrification, telecommunications and track. The line will link both cities, Mexico and Toluca, with 6 passenger stations along a 60km double electrified track.
