Rex Articoli Tecnici at Innotrans 2014

Rex Articoli Tecnici, a long-standing Swiss manufacturer of rubber and thermoplastic products for the rail sector, will be present at Innotrans 2014 in two separate booths to display its solutions for both rolling-stock components and infrastructure.

In the rolling-stock booth, Rex offers innovative rubber, thermoplastic and rubber-metal combinations for anti-vibration, damping and shock-absorbers as well as durable bellows and high-performance springs and couplings.

In the infrastructure booth, Rex will be offering a range of products for the efficient construction of ballastless tracks and well as its SWISSCROSS line of level crossings. These are broken into three lines; rubber, resin and rubber-cement, each with their unique characteristics and applications. Resin crossings are strong yet very lightweight and are ideal for foot crossings, especially for rail personnel, while rubber crossings are ideal for areas of light traffic and urban areas.

The newly launched rubber-cement crossing (RUBE) offers particular benefits as it combines the advantages of both materials. In fact, according to the developers, this combination provides the best and most uniform rigid structure from point to point. Special textures were developed and applied to increase friction and drain water permitting maximum grip under all weather conditions.

The rubber-cement also offers the obvious advantage of superior strength for heavy-duty use in areas where heavy vehicles, including fully-loaded trucks, use the crossing.

Extensive studies were made to make these crossings easy and quick to install. Rex also supplies purpose-made tools to make the set-up even more straightforward, which minimises the track occupancy.

REX also works closely with customers to develop bespoke solutions.
