InnoTrans 2016: ContiTech Digitally Enhances Air Spring Systems and Presents New Solutions for Fire Protection
ContiTech will be showcasing what it has to offer at InnoTrans in Berlin, Germany (hall 9, booth 401, 20-23 September 2016).
Initial development studies regarding digital solutions that provide added value for vehicle operators are therefore one of the topics covered by the system supplier.
"We are conducting research into sensor technology that detects and digitally records accelerations and movements within the air spring," explains Olaf Philipp, head of the rail vehicle business at ContiTech Air Spring Systems.
"Using the data we have obtained, it could be the case that in a few years, distance profiles, for example, could be recorded and specific conclusions regarding the service life of components facilitated."
Whether in high-speed trains or in light rail traffic: ContiTech technology is also helping to reduce noise pollution in cities and densely populated areas. For years, the company has been active in research projects for lowering noise in rail freight transport and in offering systems that considerably reduce rail traffic noise. Other focal points of the booth will include fire protection and light-weight, non-slip materials for bistro areas.
