Robust, space-saving and with higher performance than the first generation Intel Atom: MEN’s new ESMini module is equipped with an Intel Atom processor from the E600 series and fits excellently into demanding mobile applications, particularly meeting high graphics requirements in a small space.

For railway, avionics, agricultural or construction machines or medical engineering: wherever technological requirements are high and only a limited amount of space is available, the robust MM2 is the perfect choice.

The Intel Atom E600 processor on the MM2 COM module runs with a frequency of up to 1.6GHz and has a maximum power dissipation of 5W to 7W. Based on the PCI Express standard for the processor-to-chipset interface, it offers flexible possibilities for connecting application-specific I/O and an improved graphics performance.

The MM2 provides a multitude of I/O interfaces. It supports both serial I/O such as PCI Express, LVDS and SDVO for graphic interfaces, high definition audio, Ethernet, SATA and USB and legacy I/O such as CAN bus and COM interfaces.

The DDR2 SDRAM with a size of up to 2GB is soldered against shock and vibration. Different mass storage media can be accommodated directly on the carrier board.

As all ESMini modules the MM2 has a size of only 95mm x 55mm, is designed for an operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C and is embedded into a frame which offers complete EMC protection and efficient conduction cooling. Air cooling is also possible by applying a heat sink on top of the cover.

The real-time clock and a board management controller with watchdog complete the functionality of the robust computer-on-module.
