M-Module Carrier in 3U CompactPCI Serial for Flexible Input and Output

The new G204 3U CompactPCI Serial carrier card offers space for one M-Module and combines fast serial CompactPCI technology with the longstanding standard for flexible input/output.

Versatile real-world I/O on compactPCI serial

Already in 1988 MEN was looking for a cost-effective and easy way to integrate flexible input/output functions. The solution was the design of M-Modules, which were later declared to be an official ANSI/VITA standard and which have been included also in the product range of other manufacturers.

With their manifold functions for process data acquisition, automation and vehicle control, robotics or instrumentation M-Modules have remained successful for many years. Even for changing requirements, within few minutes M-Modules can be exchanged and can be up and running using a suitable driver.

The G204 now brings the modular mezzanine cards to the latest standard driven by MEN – CompactPCI Serial – and makes powerful 19in-based system solutions for transportation and industrial applications even more flexible. The 3U card can accommodate one M-Module and only needs one CompactPCI Serial slot in the system.

Within a CompactPCI Serial system (or as a peripheral card in a hybrid system on the basis of CompactPCI PlusIO) customers have more than 30 different M-Modules for versatile real world I/O at their disposal when using the G204. The G204 was specified for the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C for demanding applications.
