Mechan

Sheffield-based rail depot equipment specialist, Mechan, is strengthening its customer support team with the appointment of a new key account manager.

Lindsey Mills from Doncaster joins the firm to look after the needs of existing clients and develop opportunities for increasing business.

In her new role at Mechan, Lindsey will be project managing ongoing orders, processing enquiries and spreading the word about the firm’s range of heavy lifting products at global trade fairs. She is a familiar face within the rail industry, having spent the last 13 months at Silent Bloc in Burton-upon-Trent, makers of parts used in bogie suspension and prior to that, four years at the South Yorkshire branch of Unipart Rail.

Richard Carr, Mechan’s chief executive, said: "Lindsey is a welcome addition to the team. Her familiarity with the industry will be vital in developing lasting relationships with key accounts and getting to grips with the technical aspects of our product portfolio. Most importantly, she has demonstrated an enthusiasm and willingness to throw herself into a new challenge and I am confident she will be popular with colleagues and clients alike."

Lindsey added: "Mechan is an ambitious and thriving firm with a reputation for excellence, both in the manufacturing process and its aftersales care. The project-based nature of my role is a little different to what I’ve done previously, but thanks to the friendly, helpful team, I am settling in quickly and thoroughly enjoying my new working environment."
