On 14th November 2005, test operations were started on the information-advertising and surveillance systems in the front vehicle No. 3141 of the refurbished metro trainset 81-71M. The vehicle is a part of a trainset in regular passenger service on line A between stations Skalka and Dejvicka in Prague. The information-advertising and surveillance systems are the result of UniControls’ own research and development. UniControls has long experience of development, production and putting information systems into operation (e.g. EMU 471 and Regionova).

The information-advertising system is equipped with six video monitors placed on the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle ceiling. They display information and commercials transmitted from a control unit located inside the vehicle. Data is wirelessly transmitted to the control unit from the Rencar workstation through a Unicontrols FTP server located in the Hostivar depot.

The surveillance system has four cameras monitoring the interior of the vehicle. During normal operation, data from the control unit can be transmitted wirelessly to the control room.

The aim of the test operation, which will continue for approximately six months, is to validate the technical properties of both systems.
