The International Symposium on The Technologies for Improving the Performance of Rail Tracks was held December 13th and 14th in Prague, Czech Republic. The symposium was organised by Tensar International s.r.o. in cooperation with Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration and in conjunction with research programme of the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Centre for Pavement Engineering

The symposium was attended by the 45 participants from 14 European countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Netherlands and United Kingdom. Delegates from the Railway administrations from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia attended the symposium.

The symposium was focused on recent results of laboratory and field research and practical experience covering the main topic: improving the performance of rail tracks. Discussion about practical implications and conclusions formed very important part of the symposium.
