Multicore Technology with Flexible Mezzanine Card Extension
High graphics performance and flexible I/O configuration The CompactPCI SBC D9 has been specially developed for embedded systems with intensive requirements for computing and graphics performance and low power consumption. Support for a number of Intel CPUs including the Intel® Core 2 Duo T7400 processors and the single and dual-core versions.
The 256-bit graphics engine integrated in the Intel 945GME provides up to 250MHz and supports connection of two monitors with the same or different display. Connections for a VGA connector are available at the front or up to two digital video portals the front or at the rear are provided via mezzanine card.
Combining the I/O functions on the D9 with rear I/O, mezzanine extension cards and XMC or PMC results in a multitude of I/O configuration options. A total of six USB 2.0 interfaces, up to four UARTs and up to four Gigabit Ethernet are available at the front or at the rear of the D9.
In addition PICMG 2.16 can be realized via a mezzanine card. The D9 also offers a CompactFlash slot and two SATA ports which can be used on-board or on the backplane. One XMC or PMC slot offers even more modularity. The XMC is controlled via two PCI Express links with one lane each , the PMC slot offers 32/64Bit and 33/66/133MHz up to PCI-X.
The board can be operated in Windows and Linux environments as well as with real-time operating systems which support multicore architecture. The Award BIOS has been specially developed for embedded system applications. Management and supervision of the board functions complete the functionality of the D9. The D9 has a guaranteed minimum availability of five years.
The D9 is suited for a wide range of industrial applications such as monitoring, visualization, control, test and measurement. Main target markets are industrial automation, multimedia, traffic and transport, aerospace, shipbuilding, medical engineering and robotics.
For rugged industrial applications, the single board computer is equipped with a tailored heat sink. Depending on the processor type, the size of the heat sink and system, the D9 can also be used in the extended temperature range. The DDR2-RAM system memory with up to 4GB is soldered to guarantee optimum shock and vibration resistance. For operation in humid and dusty environments the D9 is also prepared for coating.
