Grau Elektronik Introduces 250W DC/DC High-Reliability Converters for Chassis Mounting

Our 250W DC/DC converters for railway applications have a 10ms hold-up time, as well as the following features:

  • Voltage in: 43.2V-154V or 14.4V-50.4V at EN 50155
  • Voltage out: 24V or 48V
  • Temperature range: -40°C to +85°C without derating
  • MTBF: 400,000h at TA = 40°C full load
  • Failure rate: <0.1%

The operating temperature range is -40°C up to +70°C (85°C for 10min). The converters have a 10ms hold-up time, compensating small battery interrupts like short circuits opening battery lines.

Input to output is galvanically isolated. The DC/DC converters are continuously no-load and short-circuit approved. No additional components are necessary for EMC and cooling demands. The converters are available in a IP 20 housing.

The efficiency is 87% and 92% for POUT>= 0.7 Poutnom. A power fail signal pin (open collector transistor or relay) can be used for signalling overload conditions. With the enable pin the converter can be switched on or off using an external controller.

The dimensions are very compact: 240mm x 160mm x 81.5mm.
