At Innotrans 2018, Powernet will showcase its new IP65 housed Battery Management System (BHC) / PSU for rolling stock applications and introduce innovative rail communication system TRDP.

ADC9000-series modules and systems for auxiliary power needs in the 500W-12kW range will also be on display.

Introducing the 12.8kW IP65 BHC9640-system based on the proven ADC9000 3.2kW platform. The new rooftop system is closely integrated with the train management system and provides extraordinarily high efficiency and flexibility over the whole power range as the system controller optimises the operation of the internal switching mode power supply modules independently.

The IP65 housed BHC-system family is a further development of the well-proven rack mounted BCS-system family available in power range 6.4kW-12.8kW.

Train Real Time Data Protocol (TRDP) is the foundation for all future communication in rail industry, enabling Industrial Internet of Things and the smart train in the rail industry. Powernet showcases TRDP at the Innotrans exhibition.

Powernet Oy sales and marketing vice-president Harry Lilja says: “The new BHC-system is a top-of-the-line solution for rooftop installations that combines a modular system with the high-level functionality of a deeply integrated battery management system in the train. Powernet is excited to be an early adopter and supports TRDP as a communication option in all new projects according to customer needs. We are introducing TRDP as a communication option throughout our 9000 series rail products.

“Also, our popular ADC9000 series offers a broad portfolio of modules and systems for auxiliary power supply needs in the range of 500W-12,800W. The small and light power modules are available as converters, power supplies and battery chargers. We look forward to a busy week at Innotrans and invite all existing and new customers to visit us.”
