Cellular rubber (sponge) is a common and widely used sealing material. It is excellent for the sealing of components that have high tolerances. Due to the foam-like consistency, the material is very compressible and retains a very good compression set (CS).
The material is used in different thickness in flat, 2-dimensional applications. It is also possible to apply a self-adhesive film. Therefore, the cellular rubber could be used as an aid during the montage.
The newly developed cellular rubber material has a flame-retardant rubber- compound as a base, which offers very good mechanical properties and dynamic properties.
Now, the new material is certified according to UNI CE EN 45545 HL1 – HL3 for applications under R22 and R 23.
