At Railtex 2017, Polarteknik will be presenting new corporate colours with UK partner Train Door Solutions Ltd (TDS), which has seen them implementing a new first-class door system on Wabtec Rail Scotland on the Class 321.

This has been an upgrade on Greater Western Mark III’s and has involved the installation of door sets in newly designed first class compartments.

With SNC-Lavalin and Porterbrook Leasing, Polarteknik and TDS have been working on modifying the width of the UAT access door and installing a brand new TSI-PRM compliant electrical door drive on the Class 158 fleet of vehicles.

For new build railway rolling-stock, Polarteknik has been the leading interior door manufacturer for British fleets for 20 years.

The company has an extensive list of references starting in the 1990s, including Bombardier Turbostar and Electrostar, Siemens Scotrail (Class 380), Hitachi CTRL (Class 395) and the latest Hitachi IEP (Class 800/801), ASR (Class 385), and WOE (AT300).

Future fleets from CAF for Caledonian and Transpennine will be equipped with Polarteknik door systems.

Outside the UK market, Polarteknik has provided products and services to Siemens ICE4, Stadler Flirt’s, Hitachi Rail Italy ETR 1000, Alstom Regiolis Coradia Polyvalent, and Coradia Nordic. Polarteknik has provided a customised system that satisfies the requirements of the fleet in all aspects of the compliance requirements, whether they are technical, environmental or service reliability related.
