ErvoCom has selected a DAMM TetraFlex infrastructure for its communication solution to be deployed on the complete city tram lines in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The tram line will link the municipalities of Sacaba, Cercado, Colcapirua, Quillacollo, Vinto and Sipe Sipe in the Department of Cochabamba, providing transport services to more than one million people.

DAMM will deliver 11 BS421 Outdoor Base Stations for voice and data communication. In addition to reliability, key factors for choosing DAMM were the flexibility and scalability of the system combined with the open API, which allows easy integration of customised applications and external devices. In this project, ErvoCom used the open API to integrate their TRAin DISpatcher TRADIS and their Train Radio System TRS2090.

Pablo Rocha, global key account manager at DAMM, states: “We are delighted to realise this rail project with ErvoCom, and with the strong, combined solution that we can offer we are confident that there will be many more.”

Patrick Vogt, ErvoCom International CEO, elaborates: “DAMM’s TetraFlex solution is the perfect fit for the needs of this railway project. ErvoCom was able to smoothly implement the DAMM TetraFlex interface, allowing for seamless interaction between ErvoCom’s radio dispatcher solutions and DAMM’s TETRA base stations.

“By combining the high reliability of DAMM’s TETRA base stations and the innovation of ErvoCom’s Train Dispatcher, the customer benefits from a best-in-class communications solution.”

The TRS2090 will be used to transmit all voice and data for the passenger information, public announcement and emergency intercom systems to the operation control centre (OCC).

ErvoCom’s TRADIS will enable efficient communication between the OCC and the train driver, passengers and service staff.
