Hollysys to supply ground-based signaling system to Xi'an-Baoji Line in China

Hollysys Automation Technologies (Hollysys) has secured a RMB56m ($8.86m) contract in China to supply its ground-based high-speed rail signalling system to the Xi'an-Baoji rail line.

Hollysys system includes train control centre (TCC), radio block centre (RBC) and other auxiliary equipment, which is expected to be delivered and installed by May 2013.

Construction work on the Xi'an-Baoji high-speed railway, which links Xi'an city in the east and Baoji city in the west of Shaanxi Province and travel at speeds of 300km/h to 350km/h, started in December 2009 and is expected to be opened this year.

In March 2012, Hollysys won contracts worth $63.15m from MTR to design high-speed rail signalling systems for the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL).

As per the deal, the company would design, supply and implement both the on-board and ground-based signalling equipment, including automatic train protection (ATP) systems, the TCC, track circuit and related services for the Hong Kong section of the XRL.

The 26km route connects the West Kowloon Terminus in Hong Kong and Huangguan in Shenzhen, with a design line speed of 200km/h.

For the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the company will also implement the ground-based high-speed rail signalling equipment and systems, lineside electronic unit (LEU), vital data network, interlocking system and centralised traffic control (CTC).
