Colorado A Line

A team led by engineering and construction firm Fluor has completed the University of Colorado A Line of the Denver Eagle P3 Commuter Rail Project in the US.

The 23-mile electric commuter line will run between downtown Denver Union Station and Denver International Airport. There are eight stations along the route and new rail cars are used, which have level boarding to facilitate travellers with luggage and accessibility requirements.

The rail cars have a top speed of 79mph and will be capable of accommodating up to 200 passengers.

Fluor chairman and CEO David Seaton said: "The Eagle P3 project is the nation’s first public-private partnership project for commuter rail, and we want to congratulate the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and all its partners on completing the University of Colorado A Line.

"This project is an outstanding example of how the private and public sectors can partner to deliver infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
