The project will involve several Faiveley operating units situated in France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Deliveries are expected to start by September next year and be completed by 2022.

French national railway company SNCF previously ordered 71 trains from a consortium of Alstom and Bombardier earlier this year, as a part of a framework contract for the delivery of up to 255 trains.

The new fleet will comprise 56 six-car and 15 seven-car sets that can carry up to 1,860 passengers.
