Atkins, in partnership with Norwegian engineering consultancy Aas Jakobsen, has won a contract to design new signalling systems on the new Follo line in Oslo, Norway.
The signalling system will be fitted in the Oslo Central Station area, where the new Follo line will run into the station increasing capacity and reliability of the rail links into the Norwegian capital.

The project will bring the new tracks of the Follo line through a densely built-up area that features many cultural heritage sites, which must be carefully protected.
The company will alter the present track arrangement at Oslo Central Station to make way for the new system.
